TechRadar has an article about wireless mice and gaming. I have spent many hours (per day usually) gaming with wireless mice with no issues. I can’t stand the cord tugging on my mouse as I play. What about you? Do you prefer corded or cordless for gaming?

They really expected something different? Almost anyone who has played FPS’s on both could have predicted this.

“Microsoft set out on a Xbox Live project that would let PC and console users interact on some form of united multiplayer platform – a grand idea on paper. In practice however, it’s said that PC gamers "destroyed" console players every time.”

I am looking forward to see how this performs!

MSI is preparing to release it’s Graphics Upgrade Solution(GUS), an upgradeable external card.  The card currently uses a PCI Express card slot and MSI also plans to launch a USB 3.0 version of GUS down the road. This could be very interesting if it allows older notebooks to be able to play more serious games than they can currently.

The MMO by EA based on the Need For Speed racing titles will be a free to play game exclusive to the PC platform.  They already have 150 miles of open road and fairly mundane system requirements: 2.0GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 512MB video card. There will also be opportunities to buy in game goods with real money.  Check out Techspot for a gameplay video.

This Wired article by Gus Mastrapa sure hits close to my heart.  Dan and I are avid players of Battlefield 2 and often discuss this very topic.  No matter how much we communicate and work together there is always someone waiting around the next corner who is faster than you.  It can be very frustrating, and I know that my reflexes aren’t what they used to be, but I still love to play this game.

Lavasoft has released a new version of Ad-Aware, called Game Edition.  The main feature is the product’s "Do not disturb" mode which is invoked automatically anytime you’re running a full-screen program; you can also turn it on manually. "Do not disturb" mode postpones scheduled scans and updates. If the real-time malware protection detects active malware, it silently takes care of the problem even if the user had chosen the let-me-handle-it Advanced mode. On exiting full-screen mode, the user gets a summary of any actions taken.

Dell, MSI and ASUS have all announced gaming series laptops utilizing the new Intel Core I7 mobile processors.  Dell announced the Alienware M15x, MSI announced their GT740 and GT640 and ASUS announced their G and M series laptops.  After recently purchasing a Dell Studio XPS desktop with the Core I7 920, I am constantly impressed by how fast it is.  It will be interesting to see if these laptops offer the same speed and their desktop equivalents.
